Hockey, School, Holiday Events

Daniel and his team played a great game today vs. Holy Name. His team, the Springfield Capitals won 8 to 2. Daniel looked great out there, he said he was proud of his play, Dan and I agree. Good Job Hawk!

School work - so far so good this term. Very little to report here except that it is REALLY nice to come home from work and find that he has already finished his homework or is near done. This is refreshing, thank you Hawk!

Holiday events, this week on Wednesday evening it the school holiday concert. Daniel will be showing off his trumpet talents. And next week on the 23rd he transforms to be "Scrooge" in the school play. I can't wait to see this performance! He had all his line memorized near perfection in the first week of getting them. Bravo, Encore!

Hockey Game

Today's game was a winner. Final period game shifting shut down made possible by Hawk. It was awesome to see, luckily I was there and somehow not at the moment occupied with Christopher so I saw it all happen. The whole rink was in a giant wave towards the Capitals Goal and swoosh Daniel skates into the wave and smacks the puck free! The bleachers went nuts. Great job Hawk! Just imagine this is only the beginning of the season. Imagine the possibilities. How fortunate to be skating with such a great team and to have great coaches.

Braces Off

One year and they are off. Now it is on to life with retainers. And still at some point in the future he still may need to return to train tracks in the mouth. For now enjoying the smoothness. Looking forward to some apples and corn on the cob again.

How "Hawk" got his name.

When Daniel began skating he sported a mohawk on his helmet. For a longtime he wore a strip of green fur on his helmet. He skated at the Sunday clinics in Concord with Greg Carter. There he became know as Hawk. Then one unfortunate day a referee said it had to go. But the name stayed.

Daniel gets a page too.

Since I have created a page for Christopher and have learned how easy it is, I have decided to do the same for Daniel. Though Daniel doesn't face the same challenges that Christopher does he sure does do a lot. So I will begin to keep track of his happenings here for family to share in his changes too, as we are doing with Christopher's page. (http://chabott.blogspot.com/) Come back soon and often as I hope to post as regularly as I do for Christopher.
