Heimlich Maneuver

Daniel choked on his breakfast this AM.  OMG - still shaking over this.  It took 4 or 5 good squeezes to dislodge.  All the while in my most curdling scream shouting "HELP ME, HELP ME, HELP ME!" To get Dan Sr's attention.  Christopher climbed himself into the TV entertainment cabinet shouting "No" while this was all going on.  Pure mayhem.  Thankfully all is OK now.

Hawk your are so much more brave then me.

The other day while waiting outside the school for me to come rescue him.  (He missed the bus.) A few upperclassmen saw he had a cell phone and asked if they could use it.  I would have handed it over - not a second thought.  He on the other hand didn't want to and told them " No, there is a perfectly good phone (gestured toward the building) in the office for your important call."  Good for you Hawk, it was the right call to make. I have always told him that no one should use his phone cause anything they do, say or send with it comes back on him.  Still I never would have been so brave to be so bold to the upperclassmen. Man I hope you continue to hold onto that confidence boy.  I love you, I love to see you make such great strides in your maturing.

County Fair

Cool new baseball cap bought at the fair.  To be cool though it has to be backwards right?
Large bowl of fries served in disposable dog dish.  Mom gets the left overs.
So many miles of walking!  Around and around and around.  Phew Mom is getting tired.
Tunnel exit of the fun house.
Hanging with friends. Waiting to get on the whip, spin, speedy ride thing. (Forgot the name of it) Was a favorite ride of many and many times they waited to ride over and over again.

Ok so maybe I am just not ready for this, but at the age of 12 I am not comfortable with just dropping him off at the county fair to hang.  So I followed these guys around for 4 hours like a private eye or a body guard.   Keep a safe distance to not over hear their conversations but not so far that they could disappear from my site.    Felt a bit guilty that I was attacking his coolness since I was the only Mom there.  But like I said before, they are 12, and that in my (call it crazy if you wish) personal mom opinion is too young to be dumped off at the fair on their own till the lights go out. In fact not even sure that any age is appropriate for this.  As when they get older there are even more troubles they can get themselves into with peer pressure.  At some point though I know I will have to let him go . . . but for now at 12 I will continue to be there!
