Toddler vs Teen
This is a clipped pulled from Hawk's Facebook Page on July11th.
How my day started:
Chris: *Slap*
Me: "Ow!"
Chris: "Danyo!"
Me: "What!"
Chris: "It's Time for lunch!"
Me: "Does that mean you are hungry?"
Chris: "DUH!"

The Drive In!
So what if it's raining, the drive in is fun!
We were 5 car long in the front row. Tarps hung from car to car. ALL of the cousin where with us. Joining us from MA,NH, and CO! 8 of them plus Hawk and Christopher. AND Hawk brought 3 buddies.
Summertime memory maker for sure!
We saw Cars2 and Green Lantern.
Summer Treats.
Summertime! Lunch break from summer time swimming fun at yet another swimming hole. Dinning at our favorite summer hang out - the back of the car, where all the yummy stuff is to refuel our bodies for more fun.

Hawk saves the day!
Christopher pounding down popcorn - begins to choke! 5 good Heimlich's a shade of purple and Big Brother saves the day. Thank God, all is returned to normal. I am so proud of his calm, straight level head in a very stressful situation.

Teenagers! I guess I will keep him.
OK so having a teenager is the house can be challenging - a flipping mouthy mess at times. But then there are these moments that make me proud!
Yesterday we went to a lake for the day. Mostly I had to hang close by his little brother, so Hawk enjoyed the freedom to do his own thing. This lake had a giant BLOB, you sign up to use it and as long as there is at least one adult in the group, the group is sent to swim out from the end of the dock to the BLOB. It looks like something from the TV show Wipe Out. Hawk was able to go a few times. I felt bad because he really wanted me to go too but I really didn't know any of the others well enough to leave Christopher behind. Anyway later in the afternoon just before we left a complete stranger came up to me and:
Stranger " Is that your son?" Pointing to Hawk
Me "Yes? Why?" Not sure for what would be next . . .
Stranger " He is a very polite, responsible young man."
Me " Oh, Yes, thank you for saying so, I agree." Smiling!
This is not the first time I have heard this of him in situations like these - I guess I will keep him.

6 flags more fun . . . again!
Class trip with school Band following their performance where they placed high as a school. Good job Mr H and the PVRS Band!
Uncle Bob joined us at the park - good thing or I would have been really bored by myself since no middle school kiddo would be caught dead walking around with their parent on a school trip! Unless they needed money.
We had fun despite it being REALLY hot this day. Some of Hawks friends stayed on with us not returning with the school - we stayed till park closed. It's how we roll at the park! Open to close! Picnic in the parking lot to refuel and then back to play!!!!

ticket to the movies . . .
Work in progress . . . attended cast call this past Memorial day.
We traveled to Hyanis on the Cape for the open call for extras casting. Casting by CP Casting out of Boston.
Can't tell you anything about it yet - but I can tell you that maybe if the shots are used in the film - Hawk will officially be in an Adam Sandler Movie.
We left REALLY early - so it was Mc Donalds for breakfast on the way. We met up with Auntie KK and cousin Kalstar too. When we were done we went to the ocean for a toe dip and photo opp.
On our way home we stopped to see The Hanger Over 2 - so funny! Must see.

Well broken again! Maybe.
Almost this time exactly last year we were at the ER with broken collar bone. Today it's a possible fracture of the outer foot bone. Hawk twisted his foot on his way out of the gym on his way to his last track meet. Xray shows a looks a little fussy where the ligament attaches to bone - hard to tell yet if its swelling or broken. If he is not able to apply weight still in 2 weeks then it back to x-ray. For now its crutches, ace bandage and air cast! I am beginning to think I should have gone to school to be a Dr. or maybe married an Arabian Prince to pay for our medical bills.
It required a deep search in the basement for the crutches. (Why they moved with us is beyond me!) But there they were ironically in the ski cabinet. Since I first used these crutches back in 1992 after a ski accident that pulled my knee ligament. Then Dan Sr. when he did the same thing that Hawk has just done (only he was playing Volley Ball - Gross I still remember watching that injury happen!) also in the later part of the 90's.
Crutches are not something you look forward to passing on to your children. But saved me $50 bucks at least for storing them as long as we have. Hopefully they will be stored again for a long time before they come out again - even better would be that they stay tucked in the back of the ski cabinet where my ski's have sat untouched since having children!
